Echo Node is a smarter voice recorder for Android.
It helps you capture spoken information, turn recordings into searchable text, add timestamped notes, and return to the moments that matter—without requiring you to store your recording library in the cloud.
A traditional voice recorder gives you an audio file. That works until you need to find one specific detail inside a recording from several days, weeks, or months ago.
Echo Node is designed around everything that happens after you press Record.
Each recording can become part of an organized, searchable library containing:
The original audio
An editable transcript
Timestamped notes
An optional AI summary
A searchable recording name
Speaker information when available
Instead of remembering which recording contains the information you need, you can search for the words or notes you remember.
Opening an app, navigating to the correct screen, and finding the Record button can be enough friction to lose a thought or miss the beginning of a conversation.
Echo Node provides several ways to begin recording on Android, including supported Quick Settings, Home screen, and in-app controls.
Once recording begins, Echo Node can continue in the background while you use your phone. Android displays an ongoing recording notification so the active microphone remains visible and accessible.

After recording, Echo Node can create an editable transcript.
Free on-device transcription processes the recording locally on your Android device. This provides a private transcription option without sending the recording to Gemini.
Premium members can choose Gemini transcription when they want enhanced cloud processing, timed results, and more capable speaker separation.
Neither method is guaranteed to produce a perfect transcript. Accuracy depends on the recording environment, microphone placement, background noise, overlapping speech, accents, and specialized vocabulary. Both on-device and Gemini transcripts can be edited after they are generated.

Echo Node can search across recording names, notes, and saved transcripts.
If you remember a phrase, subject, person, task, or note—but not the name of the recording—search can help locate the matching file.
You can then open the recording, review its transcript, and return to the relevant part of the audio.
After a recording is complete, you can add notes connected to specific points in the audio.
A timestamped note does more than describe the recording. It helps you return directly to the moment that made the note important.
This can be useful for marking:

A memorable quote
A follow-up item
A section that needs clarification
Any moment you want to revisit later
Adding notes during an active recording is planned for a future update but is not currently available.

Echo Node stores your recordings on your Android device. You do not need a cloud-storage subscription to record, keep, or play them.
Basic recording and playback do not automatically upload your audio.
When you choose a cloud-powered action, Echo Node uses only the content needed to perform that action. Examples include requesting Gemini transcription, generating an AI summary, sharing a file, or synchronizing supported content with Google Drive.

Echo Node includes optional Google Drive synchronization at no additional cost.
From the Settings page, you can choose to synchronize supported recordings, transcripts, notes, and summaries with your personal Google Drive. Synchronization can be performed manually or automatically, depending on your settings.
Echo Node does not require Google Drive synchronization. If you enable it, the synchronized files use the storage available in your Google account.
AI is optional in Echo Node.
The app does not automatically send every recording to Gemini, create AI transcripts without your direction, or summarize your entire library.
Premium members can choose cloud-powered tools when those tools are useful, including:
Enhanced Gemini transcription
Timed, speaker-separated transcripts
Voice profiles
AI summaries
Important-moment identification
Structured insights based on a selected transcript
You decide which recording to process and when to request the feature.
Echo Node’s Free experience includes the core tools needed to record, organize, transcribe, search, annotate, share, and synchronize your recordings.
Echo Node does not, and will never, display advertising in either the Free or Premium experience.
Premium is available for people who want optional Gemini-powered transcription, voice profiles, AI summaries, and the current Premium allowances.

You are responsible for following the recording and consent laws that apply where you live and where a recording takes place.
Echo Node does not sell your recordings, transcripts, notes, or summaries.
Your recording library is not used as advertising inventory, and the app does not require you to place your recordings into Echo Node-controlled cloud storage.
